OLMS Fun Club 12/08
This is the Oregon Leadership Mom School Fun club!
I'm the leader this year. We have it once a month and the kids are 5-7 years old. They are at a great age and are very enthusiastic about everything that we do. I taught them about snowflakes and they made some of their own! We also had a Christmas Carol/Instrument Play along.

The day after Thanksgiving we get out all of the decorations and Little People Christmas toys and the Christmas season has begun! This is a hard month to get the kids to do anything unless it's related to the holiday. I think we may have to take off the whole month of school in December next year!

Thanksgiving 2008
Ugh. I am still having trouble getting captions to stay where I put them so they don't exactly match up.
Hosting Thanksgiving for my Mom's side of the family is becoming a tradition for us. We had My Grandpa Harrington, GG, Aunt Shauna, and Uncle Michael (who IS younger than me) up from California. My Mom and sister Becca flew up from Idaho. We ate well and had a good time talking and hearing about Michael's Navy adventures. We also went to dinner at Ringside (Thanks Grandpa) to celebrate my Mom's 50th birthday!

We went on our annual trip to Lee Farms to get pumpkins and our kids were so excited about the animals that pumpkins were an afterthought. I can't believe I didn't take even one picture of the patch!

Liberty Girls 11/08
We've been reading about the depression, so for Liberty Girls I had the kids do various chores and paid them a nickel for each thing they did. They cleaned the guinea pig cage, did my dishes, and cleaned the fish tank! It was well worth the change. For lunch they got oatmeal and a luxury of a sliced peach on top. My kids wouldn't eat the peaches, but at least the twins liked it! John was in Turtle heaven and ignored us.
OLMS Colloquia 11/08
We belong to a homeschool group called the Oregon Leadership Mom School. We just meet once a week. We have book discussions and activities for the kids. There are 10 families and 50+ kids. We take turns being in charge. It was my day when we discussed The Wizard of Oz. We did rainbow art (as an homage to the movie, there are no rainbows I can recollect in the book). We made tornadoes, played games, made tissue poppies, Emerald City glasses, and Alexis taught children how to sew little stuffed mice. It's a lot of work, but the kids sure love it!

Halloween in Rexburg 10/08
Jessica was a little fairy. John was Peter of Narnia. Annie was a tap-dancing witch complete with dance moves. Julia was Lucy Pevensie from Narnia and Alexis was a pumpkin fairy. I spent $10 on John's costume and the girls raided the dress-up. We trick-or-treated with my Mom and Becca in her neighborhood, then met My Dad and Karen and did another round with them. I forgot my camera for that part, bummer!

I can't figure out how to get my text to stay by these pictures or how to get the pictures to stay where I want. I'm just learning to blog....
