Painting Eggs 4/2011

I always enjoy a good deal so when I found these egg painting kits at a dollar store that was going out of business I was so excited!  10 cents a kit!!!!  Crazy awesome and the kids had a ball.

After Bathtime 4/2011

To quote my visiting teaching partner, he is "delicious"!
Asher is a little piece of perfection.

Easter Dinner 4/02011

We had our Easter dinner a few days before Easter because Jesse had planned some home teaching.  He didn't end up going so we got another Easter dinner on Sunday at his sister Marjorie's house.  Yum!
I enjoy these family traditions!
Asher's first Easter!
I suddenly feel hungry.
We always have croissants on Easter and on Christmas morning.  I wasn't planning on giving Asher any, but he took matters into his own hands and swiped mine.
He liked it so much he was shaking while he ate!  I love babies enthusiasm!!

Asher's Piano Skills 4/2011

Annie 4/2011

This is Annie with a pastel piece of art she completed.
Annie got my dad's genes.  She is so serious about camping and outdoor survival.  We had a family home evening to update our 72 hour kits and she's been praying for an emergency.  She wants an earthquake, tornado, anything that requires a 72 hour kit will do.  She uses her money she earns to buy camping supplies.  She has her own tent even!
She likes to build fires as often as I allow her. We even had an "almost" incident which involved her running away.  Not because she doesn't like home, but because she wants adventure.  She had it all planned and even got two cousins involved, one of which was assigned to bring a few of her families chickens so they could have eggs while they lived by the river.  Thankfully we heard about it before she had a chance to try it.  She is one determined little girl!

Jessica likes to watch.

Fun Club 4/11

On Annie's bedroom door the last few months she's had a sign posted.

Annie's Fun Club

Have Fun
Don't Be Mean
We Have Snacks

What else could anyone want in a club?

Homesick 4/2011

I don't often write thoughts/feelings on my blog, but every once and a while I feel the whim.

I am homesick!  I really miss Tualatin and I've been pining for Gig Harbor, but when I'm thinking of these places I'm really missing the people.  (Okay, and the beach and blackberries).  We have made some really great friends over the years that feel like family.

It's been a tough couple of years in a lot of ways.  I'm trying to notice the little things in life that bring me happiness, like  chubby baby legs or the chocolate chip cookies I made tonight, but sometimes I feel like I want to go home to people I love and miss.  Maybe this is Post-Partum Depression talking.  Ugh.  After winter always comes spring right???  :)

Final Fantasy 4/2011

When we go up to Foxhill, John heads upstairs to go play "pretend-o" (Nintendo).  It's the same one Jesse played on as a kid.  He was trying to beat a game called Final Fantasy, but we never had enough time to, so Jesse told him we could borrow it.  I was expecting like a week of one hour a day, and it would be fun bonding time for Jesse and John, right?  WRONG!!  It took like a month of serious playing and I was about to go bonkers.  What a time sucker!!  Thank you Grandma, but this is a picture to document their win, because they are never borrowing it again!  :)

I might have been happier than they were that they won!!  I got my husband and son back!

Easter 4/2011

Jessica loves it when I bring out boxes of decorations from the garage.  She dumps them out and keeps very busy, but it sure is a mess!

At home 3/2011

We have had a rough 3+ years in a lot of ways, but I find joy in the little things, and this was one of those moments.  Alexis is a good and helpful older sister.
This is Jessica (with crazy nap hair) making a "roly-poly pudding".  If you've watched the Beatrix Potter animated movies, you may know what that is.  They sell for $15 at Costco.  If you have little girls you HAVE to watch them.  They are so sweet!
Asher was a good sport.
Asher is like a little plaything for the kids.  Annie made him into a little cowboy here.
Jessica's eye had been crossing for a few months and I knew it was amblyopia.  After a few visits to the doctor and opthamologist she got her first glasses.  We're really hoping she doesn't have to wear and eye patch like Alexis did, time will tell.  She does look very cute.
She's broken them three times since this picture, but she's doing well with them lately.

Julia's 10th birthday! 3/2011

For Julia's birthday she wanted two things:  To have the cousins over all day, and to eat Russian Teacakes rather than birthday cake.  I was happy to oblige.

She got her ears pierced too.  We let our girls do it at 10 and she was so anxious to do it after watching Alexis get to wear them before her!  She is still the SWEETEST girl ever!

The Webb's Visit 3/2011

Our good friends from Portland own a chain of pet stores and (lucky for us) have one in Spokane.  They've come to visit a couple of times and it's so nice to spend time with them.

The kids had a great time playing "magic show" and it was complete with a live bunny.  It was really cute.
Annie and McKay have been good little friends.  He likes to follow her around wherever she goes.  It made me a little sad that she can pronounce his name now.  She used to call him "bouquet".  :)
Sam and Asher.
These little guys share the same birthday!  Asher decided to come 23 days early.  I wonder if they planned it?

St. Patty's Day Birthday! 3/2011

Annie's birthday party was rescheduled due to her being sick, but it was kind of fun that it ended up being on St. Patrick's Day!  We took her to Jump-N-Bounce.  They wore green and bounced their little hearts out.

Thank you friends and cousins for coming!  And thank you for the gifts.  It's really sad but I still haven't made Annie write thank you notes yet.  :)
Can you believe this little thing is 8?

Faith and Abby.
Cousins!  Addi, Annie and Abby.  Love you Annie girl!

5 Months Old 3/2011

Ahoy mateys.  My brother is going to make me love pirates! I'm starting out young.

This boy is a flirt.  He has this bashful, sweet expression he pulls that is SO adorable!

He can also look tough.
