Hats 12/08

We had friends over and Alexis got in the mood to sew some hats!

Cinnamon Bear Cruise 12/08

This was the second year we went on the Portland Spirit for a breakfast cruise with the Cinnamon Bear characters. We were introduced to the Cinnamon Bear radio show from the 1930's by my mother-in-law who gave us some tapes years ago. Our older kids knew all the stories so when I found out there was a cruise we were really excited. Their favorite part is the free hot cocoa!!

Christmas Puzzle 12/08

We try to put together a puzzle each Christmas. We got this Noah's Ark one from Aunt Becca. Thanks Becca!!!!

Baby's First Christmas!

She just couldn't get any cuter! She only got this and a baby doll, but she was happy!

Jessica

Julia loved this porcelain doll from Grandpa Noack and Grandma Karen!
Annie is all about the computer these days!
He didn't want me to take his picture, but he looked so dapper in his new robe I had to do it anyway.

John all tuckered out.

Filling Daddy's shoes 12/08

John likes playing in Jesse's closet and came out wearing his basketball shoes. It was a cute moment. He's our little man. It's weird to think he'll actually be big someday! I love my boy!!

Candy Cane Cookies 12/08

I think these are the only Christmas tradition that Jesse actually cares about. (Other than the Nativity part) He'd be fine if we didn't have stockings or presents, as long as he gets his candy cane cookies.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow... 12/08

We got LOTS of snow in December. I think we got at least 19 inches. The top layer was a sheet of ice.

Our neighborhood. Feels like Spokane!

Our backyard. The back wall is about 3 feet tall so that gives you an idea of how deep it was. That's the kids picnic table in the center. I took this before the storm dumped more on us. We got our wish of a white Christmas! I liked the fact that Jesse was stuck at home with us for a week. :)

Pot Roast 12/08

I took one of these pictures with flash and one without. The top one is deceiving, it was actually very dark as our power was out due to the snow storm. It only lasted a couple of hours, but luckily I had a roast that had just finished when it went out. It was cute watching my boys in the lamplight eating their meat and potatoes. I secretly like it when the power goes out. I go into survival mode and relive memories from my childhood. We used to go without power for days sometimes. I lived in a heavily treed rural area so we weren't high priority for the power company. We had a wood stove and I loved it!

Sugar Cookies 12/08

Jesse and the kids LOVE my sugar cookies. I made a double batch and they were still gone in two days. I'm embarrassed to say we didn't even share any!

Party!

Tiffany and Ryan Wilcox
So, I admit, I swiped these pics from the Pabst blog. They have a better camera than I do! The Pabst throw a great party, and we're so glad we got to ring in the New Year with such a fun group. Food, games and only one kid fell asleep before midnight!

Voice Lessons 12/08

Alexis and Julia are lucky enough to sing in a little choir led by our good friend Shelly Williams. They have so much fun practicing and performing! We had a mini-concert at our house. I love our home being filled with music.

What? 12/08

Normally we travel to Utah/Idaho or Spokane for some snow in the winter, but decided to have Christmas at home this year. We thought we might see a flurry or two that melts when it hits the ground like usual, but we got over a foot and a half in our backyard! Jesse was stuck at home for a week and we had a great time together. We went through a LOT of Swiss Miss.

Christmas Village 12/08

I was delighted that my parents decided to give me and my siblings each part of the "Christmas Village" I remember from my childhood. They're beautiful on our piano. Thank you!

Gingerbread Houses 12/08

John

Alexis

Julia

Annie
The kids decorated gingerbread houses as part of our yearly traditions. I wish I could say they were homemade, but they are from Costco. It sure makes the job easier not to have to cook them myself. The kids just get to do the fun part-the decorating!

Gymnastics 12/08

The Big Show. These four are in a recreational gymnastics class in Tualatin. They love it and got to perform to showcase their new skills. John wasn't old enough to be in the show, but he made it on the podium anyway.

Fat rolls. 12/08

Jessica, we love you and we know these rolls won't last forever so I'm sorry in advance, but I had to remember these!
